About the role

Job Summary

Under the general direction of the Director, the Member Services Representative functions as clerical support and customer representative, provides child care, fitness programming and educational activities for the children of our members and guests. Provides for the sale and delivery of health and fitness services to our customers. Demonstrates commitment to professional accountability and growth to maintain and expand knowledge and skills. Contributes to the achievement of the mission and philosophy of the Organization. Contributes to the effective operations of the Organization by demonstrating dependability in job performance. Exhibits the values of F.I.R.S.T. (Friendliness, Innovation, Respect, Service, and Trust).

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS, DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Executes scheduling of member and patient assessment, fitness and nutrition counseling sessions.
  2. Maintains appropriate inventory as defined by department protocol for such areas as office supplies, kitchen supplies, children’s activity supplies, retail supplies.
  3. Performs daily operations of the front desk.
  4. Open and closing duties as assigned.
  5. Handle all member accounts.
  6. Input and update all account information and payments.
  7. Receive phone calls concerning facility information and accounts.
  8. Meet and greet prospective members, giving tours and answering questions.
  9. Perform signup duties of new members.
  10. Take party applications and deposits for pool and facility.
  11. Take registration and payments for all specialty classes.
  12. Handle retail sales and taxable items.
  13. Provides supervision and care of children in the Children’s Activity Center.
  14. Handle payments for Children’s Activity Center.
  15. Maintains a clean, safe, friendly and fun environment for children.
  16. Assists in the development of games and educational activities for children.
  17. Respond to locker-room alarms.
  18. Promotes the Organizations philosophy of quality of care.
  19. Demonstrates a commitment to professional accountability and growth to maintain and expand knowledge and skills.
  20. Contributes to the achievement of the mission, vision, and values of the Organization.
  21. Contributes to the effective operations of the Organization by demonstrating dependability in job performance.

WORKING CONDITIONS, HAZARDS, AND PHYSICAL EFFORT:

The task of this job does not involve exposure to blood, body fluids, or tissues but employment may require performing supplemental tasks that involve exposure to blood, body fluids or tissues. Must be able to move or position 25 lbs. independently.

 

CONTACTS WITH OTHERS:

Interacts with customers, children, Associates, physicians and referring agencies on a routine basis.

 

EQUIPMENT USED/SPECIAL SKILLS REQUIRED:

Maintains knowledge of all appropriate exercise equipment and supplies.

Qualifications

One (1) year clerical experience/computer knowledge.  Fitness exposure preferred.  Experience as a child care provider preferred.
