Description

We are inviting you to apply for an Assistant Dietary Manager position

Job Summary:
The Assistant Dietary Manager shall be responsible for assisting the Dietary Manager in supervising all kitchen personnel and ensuring the nutritional needs of the residents are met. 

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Supervises dietary staff
  • Conducts performance evaluations that are timely and constructive

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Ability to perform duties of cooks and dietary aides
  • Delegates duties and responsibilities/assignments to competent individuals
  • Assists the Dietary Manager in planning, coordinating, and performing all special catering functions of the facility
  • In collaboration with the Dietary Manager meets with Dietitian and/or Director of Nursing to review therapeutic diets
  • Assists with food preparation and operating food production equipment as required to complete tasks
  • Prepares and maintains inventory list of foods and other dietary supplies for needed food/supply ordering purposes
  • Maintains accurate records and reports as requested by the Dietary Manager on a regular basis, e.g., volume counts (entrée, guest tray and dietary products monies collection) recipe inventory (monthly maintenance reports, diet order filing), etc.
  • Follows all safety and sanitation guidelines and regulations to ensure quality food services
  • Performs Dietary Manager duties as assigned when Dietary Manager is unavailable to do so
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Knowledge of food preparation standards and practices
  • Excellent managerial and supervisory skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail

Education and Experience:

  • A minimum of 3 years food service experience
  • Must have or be able to obtain Serv-safe certification
