Sr. Data Visualization Developer

Overview

LMI is seeking a skilled Senior Data Visualization Developer at our headquarters office in Tysons Corner Virginia. This position will be of the corporate IT team supporting all LMI departments.  To be successful in this role, you should have a broad understanding of the business technology landscape, the ability to design dashboards, and strong analytical skills.

• Design, develop, conduct unit testing, and maintain complex dashboards for scalability, manageability, performance, and re-use
• Provide technical expertise in areas of dashboard architecture, design, and implementation
• Guide team members to create useful reports and dashboards that provide insight, improve/automate processes, or otherwise add value to the organization
• Mentor others dashboard developers on dashboard development and UX/UI design
• Meet with customers to gather and document their requirements
• Review and improve existing dashboards and collaborate with teams to integrate new dashboards
• Apply UX/UI methods to deliver optimized dashboard visualizations
• Ensure consistency of dashboards by overseeing adherence to corporate software coding and style guide
• Resolve support tickets related to corporate dashboards and reports
• Work in a fast-paced, solutions-oriented environment focused on client deliverables, analysis, and reporting

Qualifications

Qualifications

• Degree or formal training in mathematics, computer science, information systems, or other related business or technical discipline is preferred
• Master’s degree/analytics bootcamp preferred or relevant business and technical experience
• 5+ years of experience or comparable combination of education and experience in data analytics field
• Experience creating meaningful data visualizations and interactive dashboards using platforms such as Tableau, Qlik, and Power BI to communicate findings and relate them back to how your insights create business impact
• Experience with UX/UI best practices and methods 
• A solid working knowledge of database principles and SQL; preferred qualifications include linking analytic and data visualization products to database connections.
• Experience in developing, maintaining, and managing Tableau driven dashboards & analytics and working knowledge of Tableau administration/architecture. Tableau Certification is a plus
• Experience manipulating common data formats, including comma-delimited, text files, and JSON
• Experience in developing and managing development standards, performing reviews to ensure standards are met across the dashboard team.
• Ability to query and display large data sets while maximizing the performance of workbook
• Ability to interpret and translate complex business requirements into technical specifications for data and dashboard development
• Experience developing in an Agile/Scrum environment is a plus
• Awareness of or experience with Equity, Diversity, Inclusion and Accessibility best practices and Federal Accessibility requirements for data visualization is a plus
