The Job:

As an Industrial Account Manager you’ll be part of our Sales team working as an in the field employee. The territory would be the southern portions of the state of Texas to include Houston, San Antonio and El Paso as the largest markets to support. This role is responsible for increasing the sales of Proto, Stanley, Craftsman, Lenox, and DEWALT brands marketed and sold through one of SBD’s largest National Accounts partners in the Construction and Industrial channel.  You’ll get to:   

  • Develop and maintain strong strategic relationships with key personnel within assigned accounts and mutual end user customers. Regular planning and communication required.
  • Local and overnight travel within territory to support distributor / customer needs and growth. Travel for National Distributor Meetings and Industry Trade Shows as needed.
  • Meet and Exceed POS Sales Goals for National Accounts and Top Line Sales Goals for strategic Independent Accounts where applicable.
  • Execute on NAM plans for new product introductions at National Accounts, coupled with a plan to execute new product national promotional programming with independents as applicable.
  • Review business with customer on a monthly/quarterly basis to ensure growth targets being achieved.
  • Take credit for value added activity by highlighting that activity to distributor / end user with the appropriate documentation.
  • Provide support to distributor partners and end-users on product training through educational and safety seminars.
  • Support Product Managers to determine appropriate promotion strategy and NPD launch.
  • Utilize national promos, flyers, resources, and events regionally and develop same for independent distribution as necessary
  • Collaborate frequently with Corporate NAM Teams to understand and execute on opportunities and initiatives.
  • Effectively manage discretionary budgets; Marketing, Promotional, and T&E.
  • Develop product knowledge / category expertise to make quality recommendations that successfully solve unmet needs and increase productivity with proper solutions to end users.
  • Collaborate on customer opportunities with Lenox Band, Storage Solutions, and other SB&D Business Units and communicate accordingly.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Marketing or related fields.
  • 3 - 5 years’ experience in Sales or Marketing focused in the Industrial and Construction channels.
  • Proficient in Microsoft applications; Excel, Power Point, Word, Outlook.
  • Strong ability to be flexible and adapt to change in business practices, market changes, etc.
  • Strong interpersonal, negotiation, verbal, and written communication skills; organization and multitasking skills a must.
  • Team player with solid track record of success – ability to drive sales growth.
  • Demonstrated time management skills, ability to set priorities, meet deadlines, etc.
  • Valid Driver's License & clean driving record.
  • Ability to work independently and cross-functionally at multiple levels within the business unit (e.g., Marketing, Product Management, Field Engineering, etc.).
  • Willingness to travel (75% local and overnight).
