PURPOSE OF THE JOB
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for the reliability performance, repair, and maintenance of mechanical devices in the plant, including but not limited to pneumatic and hydraulic devices. Additionally, the Maintenance Technician is responsible for the repair and maintenance of electrical devices consistent with the outlined experience below. This employee functions as a subject matter expert which includes reacting to process and equipment issues through troubleshooting, preventative and predictive maintenance, as well as elimination of special cause variation. Rate of Pay: + $33.00/hr. with a $0.50 night shift differential
Reports to: Maintenance Leader
Schedule: Rotating shifts.
Schedules will rotate between nights and days every 28 days.
Dayshift: 6:45am - 7:00pm
Nightshift: 6:45pm - 7:00am
Weekly Schedule follows a 2-2-3 pattern:
Week 1: Work 2 days, off 2 days, then work 3 days.
Week 2: Off 2 days, work 2 days, then off 3 days.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Safety
- Strictly adhere to all plant safety practices, codes, procedures, and programs.
- Respond to plant process emergencies and/or safety emergencies with urgency.
- Regularly inspect the work area to ensure safety policies are followed and maintain industrial housekeeping.
- Assist in and/or perform inspection, monitoring, and record keeping for:
- Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plan
- Spill Prevention Control & Countermeasures Plan
- Air Permit
- Storm Water Permit
- Waste Water Permit
Technical Operations
- Communicate with plant personnel to identify, diagnose, and repair equipment problems. Communicate with plant personnel regarding parts needed and follow established process for request submission
- Complete work assignments both predictive and preventive per Work Orders as assigned
- Use computer systems (e.g., SAP) for records, reports, inventory, and analysis.
- Perform root cause analysis including:
- Trend analysis
- Machine deterioration analysis
- Vibration analysis
- Complete documentation for Work Orders, PMs, Parts Requisitions, Scheduling, etc.
- Be knowledgeable of the production process and equipment roles for a wholistic understanding.
- Perform welding, pipefitting, hydraulic and pneumatic troubleshooting and repairs.
- Perform complex electrical troubleshooting and interpret electrical schematics.
- Respond professionally to internal and external customers.
- Participate in and complete special projects.
