Staff Accountant (Hourly)

Description
The Staff Accountant will act as point of contact between different parts of accounting department including accounts receivable, accounts payable, and external parties such as vendors, clients or lenders.
Administration
- Post and code all invoices and payments into the accounting computer systems, M3 Accounting Core.
- Research all payments daily to avoid late penalties and any other problem accounts.
- Complete and manage the hotel’s declining checkbook.
- Produce and send out accounts receivable receipts to clients as requested.
- Field and rectify all accounting related guest inquiries, including receipts, chargebacks, and billing disputes.
- Count and prepare daily cash drops for bank deposits, track and report any discrepancies.
- Count all employee hotel-issued banks monthly for discrepancies.
- Complete and balance daily income journal as needed in Profitsword.
- Assist all Management staff with various tasks as directed.
- Produce and maintain reports as directed.
- Prior knowledge and experience with M3 Accounting Core preferred.
- Prior knowledge and experience with Galaxy Lightspeed preferred.

- Must have comprehensive knowledge of the English language to effectively communicate with guests, associates, and vendors.
- Effectively communicate and coordinate with all departments.
- Scrupulously follow all StepStone and hotel policies and procedures.

Additional responsibilities specific to you are:
- Must have a comprehensive knowledge of all hotel departments and functions.
- Must have a comprehensive knowledge applicable Federal, state, and local health, safety, and legal regulations.
- Must have exceptional mathematical and computer skills.
- Ability to timely obtain any required licenses or certificates.
- CPR training and first aid training preferred.
- Additional language ability preferred.
Preferred Skills
- Prior knowledge and experience with M3 Accounting Core preferred.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Office, Excell, Internet Explorer/Google Chrome
