Senior Quality Electro-Mechanical Technician

JOB SUMMARY
This individual is responsible for mechanical assembly & electrical repair of Doble products and sub- assemblies. They will also develop fixtures to assist in critical technical and specifications of our commodities as received from our suppliers. Support multiple disciplines across the Doble community to insure the development, quality, reliability of on-going and new product development. Provide electronic/mechanical input to provide solutions to improve manufacturability both internal to Doble and at our contract manufacturers. Provide training and feedback to Doble’s engineering and incoming inspection groups to ensure our commitment to meet company goals related to customer satisfaction to meet revenue objectives. Participate in qualification of mechanical and electronic components and sub-assemblies used in Doble products.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Perform repairs, modifications and upgrades by either written procedures or oral instructions from members of the Operations, Engineering and other groups within the Doble Engineering
- Provide support and input to resolving technical, mechanical and electrical testing issues related to Special Requests across all disciplines without notice to meet critical timelines for both internal and external
- Build Engineering 1st prototypes and report on concerns or issues with documentation or assembly to ensure quality, reliability and manufacturability requirements are
- Document changes to draft Engineer Assembly drawings and make knowledgeable recommendations to design changes needed to assemble internally at Doble and at Contract Manufacturer.
- Ability to Document test results of electronic and mechanical sub-assemblies to assure quality of products from our contract
- Inspect chassis, routing of wires, checking all hardware, lugs, cable connections, securing all printed circuit boards, and checking chassis for final
- Understand importance of making recommendations to cross functional teams to improve assembly processes that could affect quality and customer satisfaction.
- Instruct other assemblers or help other junior assemblers complete their assembly.
- Interface directly with cross-functional Doble team members (Operations, Engineering, Test and Customer Service Groups) regarding issues that affect the manufacturing assembly process,
- Maintain and control the flow of materials and finished goods through the assembly process to insure inventory levels and available materials for our sales and lease
QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION:
Associate degree in mechanical or electrical engineering. In lieu of a degree 6 years of mechanical or electrical technician experience in a manufacturing environment will be considered.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
- A Minimum of eight (8) years of experience in a manufacturing environment with mechanical and electrical assembly and
- Ability to design, fabricate and quality specific fixtures to help with testing of components and PCB Assemblies to support internal and external customers. This activity will provide cost reduction actions for
- Familiar with Microsoft Office specifically Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook (including email and other internal databases).
- Demonstrated experience in problem solving and identifying process and workmanship defects in support of on-going and new product introduction manufacturing, assembly and electrical
- Knowledge of Bill of Material’s, assembly drawings, waivers and Engineering Change
- Ability to work with very little direction or
- Ability to express ideas clearly in both written & oral communications
- Relies on extensive experience (mechanical assembly of electronic products) to plan and accomplish tasks that can be performed internal at Doble (Special Projects across the Doble community).
