About the Role
Reporting directly to the Plant Manager, the Production Control Manager is responsible for managing scheduling, planning, shipping and coordinating the work activities and resources necessary for manufacturing and shipping products in accordance with cost, quality, and quantity specifications; and ensuring on time and in full deliveries to our customers.
What You’ll Do
- Responsible for supervising and ensuring execution of Production Planning, Material scheduling, and Shipping / Receiving activities.
- Responsible for the monitoring of Production Schedules, Raw Material, Work-in-progress (WIP), Manufacturing Order Variances and Finished Goods for financial tracking purposes and in support of company goals.
- Exercise a high degree of discretion and judgment to establish priorities and delegate tasks to support personnel.
- Negotiate, approve, and prioritize production schedules based on demand requirements, new product introduction, equipment capacity and materials supply with Manufacturing Management Team.
- Manage Key Performance Indicators (KPI) including actions with clear deadlines when team is not meeting targets on a daily, weekly, monthly, or quarterly basis depending on the KPI.
- Responsible for coordinating with customer service to maintain accurate requirement dates for customer orders.
- Expand utilization of warehouse management system to improve inventory accuracy.
- Drive process changes to existing shipping / receiving practices to improve accuracy and efficiency.
- Drive the development activity of the Production Planning, Material Scheduling, Shipping and Receiving teams to support professional growth and career succession.
- Use outstanding leadership abilities to select, develop, inspire and evaluate teams and individuals to achieve and maintain world class performance.
- Conduct regular one on one meetings and performance reviews with direct employees to provide coaching and feedback
- Identify personnel resource requirements and makes staffing recommendations to senior management
- Performs other duties as assigned.
