Senior Formulation Technician

Overview

Position Summary:

Directs and coordinates formulation areas in the absence of the Team Leader or Team Champion.  Assists Team Leader and Team Champion in supervising Formulation Techs I, II and Ill on a daily basis.  Performs formulations using various automated and manual methods in accordance with established Quality standards and GMP requirements.

Key Accountabilities

Essential Functions:

• Proficient at all duties required of a Formulation Tech III
• Coordinates all daily department activities. 
• Troubleshoots all major or unusual production problems and recommends corrective action. 
• Reviews and revises production documents as needed to maintain compliance with Food and Drug Administration and Good Manufacturing Practices requirements. 
• Assigns workload to department personnel. 
• Maintains the department budget.
• Monitors production runs to ensure within correct labor and Material Usage Variance standards. 
• Serves as a resource person to assist the team leader in performing on-the-job training.
• Serves as backup for the team leader in his/her absence.
• Maintains and monitors production statistical process control charts for process efficiency and reliability.
• Coordinates appropriate process validation if necessary.
• All other duties as assigned by manager.

Qualifications

Minimum Knowledge & Experience Required for the Position:

• A B.S. Degree in a Science field or equivalent 6 years of experience with a thorough knowledge of GMP requirements

• This position requires the ability to lift and move materials per current OSHA standards.

The hourly wage range Werfen reasonably expects to pay for the position is $35 to $40.  Compensation is reasonably based upon multiple factors including education, relevant experience, skillset, knowledge, and specific needs of the business.
