R.O. - Maintenance Technician

Position: Full-Time Maintenance Technician

Location: Topsider Resort, Islamorada, Florida

Reports To: General Manager

Employment Type: Full-Time

Hours: 40 Hours per Week

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and reliable Maintenance Tech to join our team. As a Maintenance Tech, you will be responsible for ensuring the proper functioning and appearance of our facilities. Your primary duties will include performing maintenance and repairs, conducting inspections, and resolving any issues that arise. Your attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and knowledge of general maintenance procedures will contribute to the overall success of our organization.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct regular inspections of units and equipment to identify any maintenance needs.
• Perform routine maintenance tasks such as replacing light bulbs, fixing leaks, unclogging drains, and repairing or replacing faulty electrical switches or outlets.
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests and prioritize tasks based on urgency and importance.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to plumbing, electrical systems, appliances, and other areas as needed.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area, including storage areas, tools, and equipment.
• Collaborate with team members to identify and implement preventative maintenance strategies.
• Repair and maintain wood decking and stairs.
• Perform painting tasks as needed.
• Handle groundskeeping and landscaping duties.
• Keep inventory of maintenance supplies and equipment and notify the supervisor when replenishment is needed.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience as a Maintenance Tech or similar role
• Strong knowledge of general maintenance procedures and techniques
• Proficiency in using hand and power tools
• Familiarity with electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Strong communication and interpersonal abilities
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team
• Physical stamina and the ability to lift heavy objects if required
• Certification or license in a related field is a plus but not a requirement
• Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• High school diploma or equivalent
