RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Enrolls new employees, terminates exiting employees, initiates COBRA, and ensures accuracy of monthly invoices for the various carriers.
- Researches routine benefit questions/issues to provide timely resolution of problems.
- Monitors eligibility dates, processes new enrollees and changes. Acts as liaison between employees and carrier.
- Coordinates with special projects, i.e., open enrollment, performance management, town hall meetings, training programs, and annual employee events such as employee appreciation day, summer picnic, Christmas celebration, etc.
- Responsible for providing administrative support for HR.
- Supports and maintains safety initiatives.
- Processes payroll for hourly and salaried employees
- Maintains and keeps up-to-date personnel files and HR files.
- Recruits, interviews and administers testing for new applicants.
- Extends offers of employment.
- Reconciles and processes invoices from benefits carriers.
- Reviews monthly COBRA reports and ensures payments are received from COBRA administrator.
- Submits new hire, termination and various other reports for management.
- Coordinates annual open enrollment.
Requirements
COMPUTER SKILLS:
- Advanced computer skills.
- Proficient knowledge required in the use of Word, Excel, Power Point.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Represent Compact Industries in a professional manner when dealing with vendors, customers, applicants and employees.
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize competing projects/deadlines.
- Excellent communication skills both oral and written.
- Able to handle confidential information appropriately.
- Able to work efficiently under deadlines.
- Bilingual English/Spanish
- Must be able to sit stand and walk.
- Occasional lifting of boxes weighing approx. 20lbs.
- College Degree in Business or related areas to HR is a plus.
- At least 2 years of experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment with responsibility reporting and previous exposure to Human Resource functions.
