Full Time Sales Ambassador (ages 18+)

What you get to do: 

The Sesame Place Store Ambassador is the cornerstone of deliver exceptional guest service to all who pass through. You can’t put a price on happiness, but you can help people bring home a wonderful reminder of one of the best times of their lives. Additionally, you will:

• Enthusiastically greet and interact with all guests as they enter and exit to provide a frictionless experience

• Utilize resources to answer any and all questions regarding merchandise and locate products efficiently

• Communicate professionally with other Ambassadors, Vendors and our Guests 

• Up-sell product that meets guests’ needs and increase revenue 

• Operate point of sale and accurately process all transactions while enhancing the guest experience to support continued engagement

• Minimize product losses due to damage or theft and notify the proper personnel with any damaged items or inventory

• Perform stock duties and maintain merchandise counters and visual displays that keep the store full and abundant

• Keep all assigned areas clean and free of safety hazards to practice safe work habits including the use of ladders and proper lifting techniques 

• Position offers up to 32 hours a week year-round with benefits included

What it takes to succeed: 

• Must be at least 18 years old 

• High school diploma or GED equivalent required

• A minimum of one (1) year of customer service experience required

• Possess the ability to effectively de-escalate tense situations and escalate to proper people when appropriate

• Demonstrate critical thinking and problem solving skills

• A proven ability to successfully promote and increase sales

• Exhibit a guest first focus with outstanding communication skills

• Excellent multi-tasking and time management skills 

• Ability to accurately learn and use the point of sale system 

• Active listener with the ability to anticipate guests’ needs 

• Ability to promote and ensure a safe and secure environment 

• Flexibility to perform varied duties 

What else is important: 

• Must be able to lift, push, pull and/or carry up to 50 lbs 

• Position engages in extensive walking and standing throughout entire work shift  

• Perform the following physical activities: kneeling, squatting, bend floor-to waist/waist-to-overhead, reach overhead, simple grasp and fine hand manipulation tasks (use of tools/keyboard/writing) 

• Perform cleaning duties; including use of cleaning chemicals 

• Must be willing to comply with all SEA grooming guidelines and employment standards 

• Must be able to work indoors and outdoors, in varying weather, to include extreme heat

• Must provide flexible, consistent availability (including nights, weekends and holidays) and adhere to our Holiday and Availability agreement. 

• Consistently practice safe work habits including the use of Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) and reporting unsafe situations 

• Ability to successfully complete all legal, company and department training requirements within established timelines
