Job Description

We are looking for a Senior Staff Engineer to lead our Infinia platform monitoring team, driving innovation in our engineering organization.

They foster environments of technical excellence, mentor the next generation of engineers, and drive architectural decisions that transform the data management landscape.

 

What you'll bring to DDN

Technical and Operational Excellence

• Experience in in designing, building, and operating large scale distributed systems
• Experience building production readiness standards and checklists, ensuring systems are highly available and meet reliability and resiliency targets.
• Strong understanding of modern software development practices and technologies (Go, Python, C++)
• Hands on data systems design experience
• Advanced understanding of Linux systems, networking, and automation

Leadership Experience

• 12+ years as an individual contributor, with experience leading technical teams of 5+
• Track record of mentoring and building technical capabilities
• Proven ability to lead geographically distributed technical teams

 

Strategic Skills

• Ability to communicate complex technical problems to stakeholders of varying technical background
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with data-driven decision making

 

Your Responsibilities

• Drive the adoption of modern monitoring, telemetry and observability systems across the product portfolio
• Raise the technical bar of the team and increase velocity of technical decision making
• Collaborate with product management to define and execute on the technical roadmap
• Mentor and grow the next generation of technical leaders at DDN
• Drive adoption of best practices in system design, testing, and operational excellence
• Ensure high standards for code quality, testing, and documentation
• Build a culture of operational excellence by sharing on-call responsibilities and leading incident responses as needed.
