WORKING TITLE: SENIOR PHARMACIST

This open competitive advertisement is for a Career Service position located at Region 1 – Community Corrections Office.

The mission of Community Corrections in the Florida Department of Corrections (FDC) is to enhance public safety by effectively supervising offenders in the community and providing them with the necessary resources and support to facilitate their successful reintegration.

This position is not a telework position and is required to report to the FDC office in the area it serves.

 

JOB DUTIES:

  • Pharmaceutical Compounding and Dispensing: Administer and participate in the compounding and dispensing of pharmaceutical drugs and supplies.
  • Policy and Procedure Development: Assist in developing and implementing pharmacy policies, methods, and procedures, and contribute to program policy and administrative rule creation.
  • Training and Inventory Management: Train pharmacists and pharmacy assistants in manufacturing and dispensing methods and develop and monitor an inventory control system for all pharmacy drugs and materials.
  • Consultation and Evaluation: Consult with physicians, nurses, and hospital personnel to evaluate pharmacy methods and services, and prepare recommendations for the Pharmacy Manager.
  • Program Monitoring and Drug Therapy Evaluation: Develop and implement program monitoring plans, evaluate drug therapy and dispensing patterns, and consult with healthcare administrators on medication standards related to licensure.

REQUIREMENTS:

Please note, when submitting a college/university degree, if selected for this position official transcripts will be required.

  • Must possess an active Florida Pharmacist license in good standing.
  • Must have two years of experience as a pharmacist at a dispensing pharmacy.
  • Must possess a degree from an accredited Pharmacy school (B.S. or PharmD).
