Senior DevOps Engineer - Hospitality

Business environment 

 

Our Hospitality division aims to become the industry leader that delivers modern, innovative solutions to our customers and enables them to run their businesses more efficiently, more profitably and deliver a great experience for their guest. 

Concretely we are creating a product that will process hospitality data to generate reports for a large scope of users. It implies the creation of a platform which will manage all the data lifecycle going through the ingestion, the processing, the storage and the business intelligence layer. 

 

Objective 

 

We are looking for a DevOps who will be in charge of designing, operating and automating the core services of the Amadeus Hospitality Data and Reporting Platform built on Big Data Platform: 

·        Deliver the infrastructure and automation. 

·        Discover and onboard new technologies. 

This means: 

·        Play a key role in accelerating the organization's ability to deliver changes reliably and consistently to Amadeus Hospitality customers. 

·        Develop standardized automation to control, build artifact and deploy managed services. 

·        Leverage, improve, design, and implement services that automate application provisioning and manage the underlying infrastructure as a service. 

·        Act as a technical lead, anticipate technical risks and interdependencies, identify potential improvement of existing code / processes, and solve complex production investigations. 

·        Form a common continuous deployment pipeline for application development teams. 

·        Identify root cause, troubleshoot, and resolve issues quickly and effectively. 

Main responsibilities

Common accountabilities:

- Has working experience and advanced and specialized technical/functional knowledge in own discipline. Understands how own area contributes to the business. Acts as a reference for colleagues with less experience and supports junior team members.​
- Influences decisions related to own activity, anticipating dependencies and consequences in complex scenarios, contributes to transversal projects, proposes improvements to processes and is accountable for own and team commitments.​
- Works independently, with some guidance on most complex situations.

Specific accountabilities:

- Solving problems / troubleshooting in a timely manner & with a high level of engagement
- Foster applications that are easy to monitor and operate, to improve infrastructure availability
- Apply best practices on code quality and security-safe code through non-functional requirements mastery, code reviews, coding guidelines, unit testing and code refactoring

- Technological Acumen – cross disciplinary knowledge (ex. UI, network…)

           

Continuous Improvement:

- Suggest evolution of the component and make recommendations on how to manage the debt of the code / clean up the code
Improve the technical aspect of the project delivery and provide recommendations for engineering process improvement

- Building cross-functional/technical teams & knowledge sharing


About the ideal candidate:

·        At least 2 years as DevOps

·        Experience in cloud implementations and migrations (Azure)

·        Experience in application build and release engineering in Service Oriented Architectures

·        Good knowledge of Spark, Databricks, Power BI, Collibra, Kafka

·        Proficient in Azure DevOps, Azure SQL

·        Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, team player, and collaborative.
