Description
Sheraton Le Meridien Charlotte seeks a dynamic Senior Group Sales Manager to drive group room revenues through strategic sales efforts. This role is pivotal in maintaining our reputation for excellence in hosting large-scale group events.
Requirements
Sales & Business Development:
- Proactively solicit and secure new group business via direct sales calls, tradeshows, networking events, and industry partnerships.
- Manage a portfolio of high-value group accounts (corporate, association, SMERF) with a focus on long-term relationship building.
- Conduct site inspections and client presentations to showcase our property’s capabilities.
Account Management:
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with key accounts and decision-makers.
- Coordinate with Revenue Management to optimize pricing, inventory control, and profitability.
- Lead contract negotiations ensuring compliance with Marriott standards and client expectations.
Collaboration & Execution:
- Work closely with Convention Services, Event Planning, and Operations teams to ensure seamless turnover and execution of group programs.
- Act as the primary point of contact for clients from initial inquiry through post-event follow-up.
- Monitor group performance and provide forecasting updates to leadership.
Systems & Reporting:
- Utilize Marriott systems (CI/TY, SFAWeb, OneSource) to manage accounts, track sales activities, and generate reports.
- Ensure data integrity and timely updates within Marriott’s CRM systems.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Hospitality, or related field preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of group sales experience in a full-service or convention hotel environment; Marriott experience strongly preferred.
- Proven track record of exceeding group sales goals and managing complex programs.
- Exceptional communication, negotiation, and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in Marriott systems: CI/TY, SFAWeb, OneSource, MarRFP, and MRDW.
- Ability to travel for industry events, client meetings, and tradeshows as needed.
