Job Description: 

We are seeking a cleared lead systems engineer to support on-premises virtual and DoD cloud environments.  Be a lead of a small sub-team of engineers managing, maintaining, and securing vSphere resources, Windows Active Directory, Windows and Linux Servers on multiple administrative, and Research and Development (R&D) networks and various cloud environments. The ideal candidate needs to balance the agility of introducing new innovative services while maintaining the infrastructure to ensure the supportability and availability of the networks. This would include overseeing and participating in project assignments of varying skill levels and may include engineering geographically dispersed services, integrating services into public, private and hybrid cloud environments, engineering solutions to be deployed via automated CM tools, and hardening the solutions to address security and SCAP compliance. Experience with automation and scripting is a plus.  Should have a desire to learn something new every day, share and educate others for team growth.

Responsibilities include:

• Facilitate system modifications across a variety of projects that include operational technologies and/or solutions to support technical, analytical, or operational requirements.
• Support strategic activities such as: identifying, analyzing, defining, and coordinating user, customer, and stakeholder needs.
• Translate user requirements into technical or operational resources for the research, development, production, and procurement of processes, systems, and services.
• Analyze portfolios of IT systems, tools, applications, and develop enterprise artifacts required for implementation; develop standard processes; manage IT portfolios; develop documentation; develop metrics and provide performance summaries.
• The engineer will be responsible for supporting custom solutions throughout the IT project life-cycle, including refining requirements, creating design documentation, creating instructions and deployment plans, and providing O&M support. 
• Lead a team of onsite systems engineers to solve complex customer requirements.

Here's what you need:

• Active DoD TS/SCI Clearance.
• BS/MS degree in Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent IT experience.
• Experience in a leadership role and working with senior management to find solutions for customers and leading teams
• Experience across a variety of technical disciplines
• Minimum 6+ years of professional experience in systems engineering, software development
• Minimum 3 year professional experience designing, administering, configuring and securing ESXi, vCenter, and related storage.
• Minimum 3 year professional experience designing, administering, configuring, and securing Windows Servers and Workstations, creating and troubleshooting GPOs, administering DNS, and authoring PowerShell automation scripts.
• Minimum 3 year professional experience designing, administering, configuring, and securing Cloud environments
• Experience working with cloud networking​
• Minimum 1 year experience with Dell and/or Cisco family of servers
• Up to 20% travel

• Experience deploying and maintaining software development management tools, such as Atlassian Suite Jira, Confluence
• Experience with Linux administration in RedHat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), CentOS or Ubuntu and bash scripting.
• Experience with virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI) solutions, such as VMware Horizon, Citrix
• Demonstrated working knowledge of architecture and design of solutions using cloud-based technologies
• Automation experience with leveraging provisioning tools
