Logistics Business Operation/Sr. Logistics Claim Specialist (EM6955)

 The Senior Logistics Claim Specialist is responsible for leading the end-to-end management of cargo claims, loss prevention efforts, and resolution of transportation-related disputes. This role will serve as the primary liaison between internal teams, customers, carriers, insurers, and legal advisors to ensure timely, accurate, and compliant claim processing. The ideal candidate has deep knowledge of logistics operations, cargo insurance policies, and regulatory requirements, and possesses excellent problem-solving and communication skills.

  Responsibilities:

• Lead the full claim lifecycle for domestic and international shipments, including cargo damage, loss, delay, and overage/shortage claims.
• Review, validate, and prepare claim documentation in compliance with legal and carrier requirements.
• Coordinate with carriers, third-party logistics providers (3PLs), freight forwarders, warehouses, and insurers to investigate claim circumstances and determine liability.
• Communicate regularly with customers and internal stakeholders regarding claim status, resolutions, and preventive actions.
• Analyze root causes and trends related to cargo damage or delays, and work with operations to implement corrective actions.
• Maintain accurate claim records and ensure timely filing within the contractual or legal timeframes.
• Negotiate settlements and manage disputes, escalating complex cases to legal counsel or upper management as necessary.
• Monitor and track claim performance metrics (KPI), including cycle time, recovery rates, and claim ratio.
• Support the development and improvement of claim-related SOPs and training materials.
• Assist in audits and compliance reporting related to transportation risk and insurance matters.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• 5 years of Logistics Freight Claims Processing experience required.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills; people skills; ability to communicate information in a clear and understandable manner
• Ability to read, interpret, and simplify complex information from various sources to create clarity and ease of understanding.
• Strong critical thinking and planning ability; balancing accountabilities; flexibility to work in a fast-paced, team environment
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint); ERP or claim management systems, web-based applications, claims database software and the ability to produce reports to support findings preferred
• Great attention to detail, organization, cross-group collaboration, and project management skills
• Ability to lead a group towards a common goal and to delegate workload to maximize efficiency.
• Transportation/Logistics Freight claims processing experience preferred.
• Required to work on-site in Plano, TX
• Ability to travel up to 10 % in the U.S.
