Job Summary:
Natera is currently seeking a Patient Billing Associate Analyst (PBAA) to join the Patient Experience Billing team. This position is responsible for performing the daily activities associated with patient billing. The PBAA should have experience with vendor interactions and be willing to take ownership of and improve upon specific billing processes like patient statements and digital communications. This position requires experience with analysis software including Excel.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Responsible for reviewing and approving patient billing files.
- Ensures billing related patient communications and statements go out in a timely manner.
- Establishes ongoing working and collaborative relationships with other departments, outside vendors and call centers that directly impact the overall patient experience.
- Works closely with the vendor operations teams to oversee operations activity that directly impacts patient billing, and provide direction and oversight of processes impacting patient billing and cash collections.
- Assists in tracking outcomes of patient payments and patient billing issues and/or escalations.
- Helps manage and investigate patient billing related escalations and issues with a solution oriented approach.
- Continues to seek new and creative technologies and implements procedures that help identify and guide improvement opportunities.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors Degree in business or healthcare related field of study
- At least 2-3 years of experience in medical billing collections
- Basic knowledge of CPT/HCPCS. ICD-10, modifier selection, and UB revenue codes
- Healthcare related field of study or equivalent experience
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Experience with Microsoft Excel, Google Workspace, PowerBI, SalesForce, Snowflake, or MES preferred
- Knowledge of medical terminology and abbreviations, and health care nomenclature and systems
- Proficiency with medical billing systems (AMD, Epic) is a plus
- Strong analytical, organizational, problem solving and team player skills
- Ability to navigate across multiple customer demands and balance competing priorities successfully
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time effectively.
- Maintains confidentiality of sensitive information
- Ability to develop, implement and produce analysis and reports
- This role works with PHI on a regular basis both in paper and electronic form and has access to various technologies to access PHI (paper and electronic) in order to perform the job
- Employee must complete training relating to HIPAA/PHI privacy, General Policies and Procedure Compliance training and security training as soon as possible but not later than the first 30 days of hire
The pay range is listed and actual compensation packages are based on a wide array of factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, years & depth of experience, certifications and specific office location. This may differ in other locations due to cost of labor considerations.Remote USA$41,800—$52,250 USD
