Department Overview

The Community Relations team leads the company’s community investment and employee engagement efforts, connecting our charitable resources, employees, and various lines of business with community and non-profit organizations supporting investments in People, Planet and California’s Prosperity. Community Relations is responsible for all philanthropy for both PG&E and The PG&E Corporation Foundation (the Foundation), which in 2023 supported nearly 1,000 contributions totaling more than $26 million.  Additionally, Community Relations is responsible for overall coworker volunteerism and the company’s annual matching gifts campaign. Community Relations, as part of the larger Corporate Affairs organization, works to form key partnerships and develop critical signature initiatives in support of the Hometowns we serve.

 

Position Summary

This role is a member of the community and coworker engagement team in Community Relations and is responsible for leadership and implementation of the company’s partnerships with sports league level teams and coworker volunteerism. This role will work with key internal partners across the PG&E enterprise and within the Community Relations team to strategically negotiate, plan and manage all aspects of multi-faceted sports partnerships. Objectives for our sports partnerships include leveraging the platforms for community benefit including sharing key messages about ways to stay safe, access PG&E programs and save energy and money. Additional objectives include increasing awareness and understanding of PG&E’s commitment to the three pillars of People, Planet and Prosperity and our commitment to giving back to local hometowns.  


This role will actively manage community volunteerism opportunities, engaging in all aspects of coworker engagement from conception to execution of successful events in all five of PG&E’s regions.  
 

This position is hybrid, working from your remote office and your assigned work location based on business need. 

 

PG&E is providing the salary range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job. The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, and internal equity. 

 

A reasonable salary range is:

Bay Area Minimum: $90,000
Bay Area Maximum: $136,000
 

 

Job Responsibilities

Duties include, but are not limited to, the following:


Sports
•    Lead the implementation of PG&E sports league level partnership strategy in collaboration with relevant PG&E stakeholder leads, including Marketing & Communications/Brand team, Customer Experience, Local and Regional teams and Community Relations partners, including implementation of contractual elements of all agreements.
•    Maintain strong internal and external relationships and subject matter expertise on sports partnerships and engagement strategies, including research, design and/or recommendations for program innovation.
•    Lead contract negotiations and renewals with existing and new sports partners.  
•    Work with PG&E Brand team to develop and support media and brand elements for activations including, but not limited to, court refurbishments, in-game messaging, large scale events, in-game telecasts, on-site safety events, on-site booths/promotions, and PSA’s.
•    Negotiate, track and execute all hospitality opportunities for PG&E.
•    Collaborate with Foundation leads on execution of philanthropic programs, including associated events and volunteer opportunities.  
•    Oversee program financials, including detailed management, reconciliation, and reporting of program budget status and payments.
•    Track and report on success factors including stakeholder engagement and marketing/customer engagement KPIs. Prepare final project reports and recommendations for renewals and future sports seasons.

 

Volunteerism
•    Serve as a point of contact for inquiries to Community Relations related to volunteerism, managing resolution of inquiries and acting as spokesperson and subject matter expert on these topics.
•    Plan and support successful execution of signature and coworker-led volunteer opportunities.
