Job Title: Marketing and Communications Intern

Location: Gray, Louisiana

 

The Danos Marketing and Communications Internship is a paid position intended for students who are interested in exploring a career in marketing.  The intern will experience Danos’ integrated marketing efforts while learning fundamental marketing skills. The intern will work alongside the marketing team and will have the opportunity to learn and gain valuable work experience while making contributions. The intern’s duties will include:

 

• Research on marketing technology stacks and customer funnels
• Event planning and support
• Research and write articles for employee newsletter
• Research and write press releases
• Assist marketing team with daily tasks, including:
  • press release distribution, monitoring, analysis and reporting
  • social media monitoring, analysis and reporting
  • updates and edits to website and blog
  • event planning
  • ideation for lead generation campaigns

Responsibilities

During internship, the intern will be given the opportunity to increase his/her marketing knowledge by working side-by-side with the marketing team on a wide range of projects that support the department’s initiatives. During the final week of the internship, the intern is expected to do a presentation summarizing his/her intern activities, including the results of the competitor market research project.

 

Anticipated percentage of work time allocated for intended projects:

40%       research on marketing technology stacks options and customer funnels

15%       event planning support

15%       research and write articles for the employee newsletter

15%       Research and write press releases

10%       Assist marketing team with tasks

  5%       Use of office systems

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in advertising, marketing or communications
• Rising junior or senior
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong copy editing skills with a keen attention to detail
• Able to work independently and within a team dynamic
• Deadline driven, organized and self-motivated
