JOB SUMMARY
The McDermott Center for Human Growth and Development seeks a highly organized and energetic Manger, Clinical Research to be a part of a new population genomics initiative at UT Southwestern Medical Center. UT Southwestern has launched the Sequencing Populations to Accelerate Research and Care (SPARC) program, a transformative initiative designed to create an institutional biobank and perform whole-exome sequencing on up to 150,000 patients across our Health System. SPARC will accelerate use of genetic data to improve screening for important genetic risk factors and help advance application of these data back into practice to improve the care of patients and their families.  The selected candidate will work with the SPARC Director leading all administrative and research functions on the SPARC project. Excellent communication and organizational skills and a proven ability to work with limited supervision is required. This position is 100% on-campus.

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION

Required

  • Education
    Bachelor's Degree in science, social science, business, health-related (including nursing) field or 
    Master's Degree in science, social science, business, or health-related (including nursing) field or 
    PhD or equivalent in science, social science, business, or health-related (including nursing) field 
     
  • Experience
    6 years of related experience to include management experience
    4 years of related experience to include management experience
    3 years of related experience to include management experience
     

Preferred

  • Experience
    Prior experience in the UTSW clinical research mentoring program is highly desirable, and participation in the UTSW clinical research mentoring program may count as additional experience. 
  • Previous management of large observational or population-based studies.
  • Experience with managing large specimen biobanks.
