This position is located in Rotterdam and will lead an overall team of 3 professionals serving a role as a key member of the Business Finance team with strong focus on cash improvement, driving financial strategic initiatives, continuous improvement and championing enterprise-wide initiatives to add value. 

A Day in the Life

The Senior Manager Business Finance, O&P EAMEI is responsible for the financial, business and commercial support and Controllership activities related to LyondellBasell’s O&P EAMEI Polymer Businesses and Joint Ventures. It’s a Finance leadership role within the O&P Finance and Strategy position with management responsibilities of O&P EAMEI Business Finance. The position has high exposure to the O&P Commercial and Finance leadership teams and is expected to be highly collaborative with functions outside of the business including HR, manufacturing, and corporate finance (Accounting, FP&A, Treasury, Investor Relations, Strategic Planning & Transactions, Tax, Finance Strategy & Transformation, and Audit).


MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES 


Directing business finance operations and controls     

  • Ensuring finance support and effective analysis and insights to provide business and management performance reviews to support and drive business responsiveness to changing market opportunities/conditions. 
  • Ensuring forecast accuracy and accountable action plans are in place to mitigate risk. 
  • Accountable for ensuring quality deliverables for the O&P EAI segment and delivering key business insights to leadership both periodic and ad-hoc. 
  • Develop and monitor metrics to track segment-specific and company-wide trends, identify opportunities, clearly communicate recommendations and collaborate across all levels of the organization.   
  • Support business ownership of P&L, forecast, working capital, and shareholder value  
  • Ensuring critical decisions are financially based. 
  • Ensuring profitability is optimized both short and long term, cash flow maximization, working capital optimization and effective fixed asset utilization through analytics. 
  • Ensuring effective investment analytics. 

Operational Excellence 

  • Accountable for providing business support on strategic projects and modelling of cash flow returns, by cross functional collaboration of Strategy and Planning, SP&T, Manufacturing and the Business. 
  • Accountable to lead Performance Plan Process and ensure consistency in regional and global assumptions, prioritization of growth projects and scenario planning.

  • Positions talent for maximum impact on results and growth and development 
  • Creates an environment where talent can be developed through effective performance management and talent evaluation, and that individuals are motivated and positioned to realize their potential.  
  • Effectively build a diverse and highly effective team with competent people using the appropriate mix of internal and external recruitment to satisfy near-term performance, longer-term succession needs and to ensure the organization has the necessary outstanding talent. 
  • Invests in the growth and development of their direct and indirect reports and other identified talent in the organization. Engaged in personal development.

You Bring This Value

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, or Engineering with adequate finance experience; 
  • MBA, CPA, Chartered Accountant or other advanced degree is preferred. Industry experience preferred; 
  • 10+ years of relevant finance experience and 2+ years of management + team leadership experience in a multi-entity, complex global environment; 
  • Direct experience managing a segment, business, or company level budget and forecasting proces
