Just Right Reader is seeking a Data Intake Specialist to join our team. This role is critical to ensuring that our data-driven literacy program runs smoothly and efficiently, especially as we expand into state-level contracts. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and proficient in managing large sets of data, while also being able to support educators and administrators with their questions and needs.
What will you do?
- Data Intake & Assessment Review: Download, organize, and analyze assessment data submitted by schools and districts. Ensure the data includes necessary details, such as test administration dates and teacher-specific information.

Excel-Based Data Management: Manage and map data in Excel to align student scores with appropriate reading materials. Utilize advanced Excel functions for data organization and accuracy.

Customer Support: Act as the primary contact for schools and districts. Answer questions from educators and administrators, providing guidance on how to submit data or use assessment platforms.

Collaboration with Teams: Work closely with Just Right Reader’s sales team to ensure we meet their customers' needs with seamless data integration and timely book shipments.

Quality Assurance: Ensure data accuracy and monitor processes to prevent any delays in fulfilling book orders for schools.

Continuous Learning & Improvement: Be open to feedback and committed to learning. Participate in regular check-ins to refine processes and improve performance.
Qualifications:

Advanced Excel Skills: Must have proficiency with VLOOKUP, data validation, and other key Excel functions. Experience with more advanced features (e.g., data automation or linking CRM systems to Excel) is a plus.

Data-Oriented: Must be meticulous with data, able to identify errors or missing information, and have a passion for accuracy.

Strong Organizational Skills: Must be highly organized and detail-oriented. The ideal candidate is the kind of person who triple-checks their work and enjoys working with complex data.

Education Experience: Preference will be given to former educators, particularly those with experience as school administrators or working with educational assessments (e.g., iReady, MAP, STAR).

Customer Service Experience: Experience communicating with educators and administrators is highly desirable. Ability to explain complex processes clearly and patiently over phone or email.

Type-A Personality: You thrive on detail, organization, and meeting deadlines. You are comfortable in a fast-paced, dynamic environment where accuracy and efficiency are paramount.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience working with assessment data from various educational platforms.

Familiarity with the K-12 education system, including student assessments and teacher data management.

Ability to handle multiple tasks with competing priorities while maintaining a high level of attention to detail.
