Data protection needs for large enterprises are evolving into a varied usage of private/public clouds. While Rubrik has built incredibly successful solutions for both, our technical architecture needs to constantly evolve to fit our customers needs, working seamlessly across public/private clouds. To provide the same magical experience to our customers while maintaining the agility of a startup, we need to converge our solutions to a foundation that can be extended & re-used. This requires continuous rethink across many areas of product and stack.

We call ourselves Watchers, and our team is integral to the mission of developing monitoring tools that let our customers sleep well at night. If you are an admin responsible for backups, you probably want to know if your backups are running as configured, and to be notified if things break. That’s where our products come in.  We build dashboards, event streams, audit logs and notification systems, with a focus on scalability and performance, and ensuring data integrity and seamless delivery of services. Without us Rubrik would be a black box.

 

What You Will Do

Rubrik Software Engineers are self-starters, driven, and can manage themselves. We believe in giving engineers responsibility, not tasks. • Design, implement, test, and evolve critical large-scale distributed systems, ingesting, processing, and analyzing data from thousands of clusters
• Work on new reporting and monitoring features and frameworks, processing and visualizing live and historical data, auditing and other operational events
• Identify and resolve bottlenecks and deadlocks, improve resiliency, scalability, and availability using your strong background in distributed systems
• Troubleshooting issues from customer environment or internal testing and collaborating with team members and other teams to come up with solutions.
• Design, develop, test, deploy, maintain and improve the software.
• Manage individual projects priorities, deadlines and deliverables with your technical expertise.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of systems software development experience
• BS or MS in Computer Science or equivalent
• Experience in programming languages such as Go, Scala, Python, Java
• Strong fundamentals in data structures, algorithms, distributed systems
• Ability to identify scalable and elegant solutions to complex problems

Preferred 

• Master’s degree and above
• Coursework or experience with design and implementation of microservices, Kubernetes
• Distributed systems design and development experience

The minimum and maximum base salaries for this role are posted below; additionally, the role is eligible for bonus potential, equity and benefits. The range displayed reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the role based on U.S. location. Within the range, the salary offered will be determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.US Pay Range$148,000—$222,000 USD
