Sr. Director US Payer Strategy is responsible for leading a Payer Marketing organization through strong cross-functional partnerships with US Brand Marketing, Field based Market Access Team, Contracting & Pricing teams to create and align on overall brand strategy. In addition, this individual will be charged with building and executing on value based programs that highlight Teva’s capabilities to its customers.
How you’ll spend your day
- Build and adjust market access strategy for all of Teva’s innovative products, including biosimilars
- Responsible for all US payer marketing across pipeline, launch, and legacy brands
- Frequently visit key customers that have an impact on access to Teva’s innovative products
- Partner with Brand Marketing, Medical Affairs, and Medical Affairs HEOR to ensure that payer strategy aligns with overall product strategy and company performance objectives
- Develop payer-centered branding, awareness, and pull-through
- Lead the development of the Reimbursement Strategic Plan for assigned brands including Coverage, Coding, Payment, and Patient Access strategies through the Annual Operating Plan and Lifecycle planning processes; oversee tactical implementation of these initiatives.
- Provide expertise and guidance to marketing research on Payer and Reimbursement related projects, interpret and analyze findings and infuse learning’s into the brand team strategic planning
- Partner with cross-functional teams to conduct highly innovative research/analytics to help identify and overcome barriers to access and uptake
- Deliver solid financial inputs to ensure company preparedness and business planning accuracy in support of regular operational and strategic business review
- Collaborate and negotiate to align cross-functional interests
- Develop and administer budgets, resource plans, and performance objectives for the team
- Manage all existing vendor relationships within approved budget in compliance with Teva SOW/MSA processes
- Participate in development and implementation of innovative Payer contracting processes
Your experience and qualifications
- A BA/BS is required
- A minimum of 10 years of experience in Market Access/Payer roles, a minimum of 15 years of industry experience
- Pharmacist background preferred
- Pharmaceutical business leadership, including experience in strategy development
- Ability to effectively lead and influence in a matrix team environment
- Experience in product launches
- Strong strategic thinker who can frame complex problems and articulate clear, data-driven recommendations
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively
- Sound organizational skills
- Project management skills and focus on delivery of results
- Proven ability to motivate and collaborate with both internal and external teams
- Strong knowledge of planning and budgeting processes and practices
