Require an experienced Groundkeeper looking after the buildings, equipment & machinery, grounds, gardens and surrounds of Fairhaven.

About the role

Fairhaven Recovery Centre is looking for an experienced Groundkeeper looking after buildings, equipment & machinery, grounds, gardens, and surrounds of Fairhaven. Maintain gardens, lawns, watering systems, sewerage treatment plant, rainwater and bore water pumping facilities, swimming pool, paths and driveways of Fairhaven in line with Centre requirements and TSA policy and procedures.

You will successfully

• Ensure lawns are mowed, leaves, branches and debris are removed from grounds and pathways cleaned on a regular basis, providing a neat outward presentation of Fairhaven. 
• Ensure excess rubbish and vegetation are transported safely and disposed as required 
• Oversee the maintenance of gardening equipment and assist with general property maintenance and cleaning as required 
• Ensure gardening equipment is operational and in safe working order, using appropriate fuels and lubricants on machinery. 
• Carry out property maintenance activities in a timely manner, ensuring property is kept clean and tidy 
• Grounds and maintenance records are adequately kept, with any or potential hazards, issues or breakdowns, as well as unsafe conditions or practices reported to Manager in a timely manner 
• Provide regular reports and feedback to manager on grounds and maintenance operations, highlighting the identification of innovative solutions, new ideas and opportunities for efficiency gains or ways to further enhance and support TSA mission and values. 
• Ensure Occupational Health and Safety obligations are followed and in line with TSA Policy and Procedures and relevant legislation 

This is a permanent, full-time position located in Eagle Heights, QLD. Salary and conditions are in accordance with the

​You will have

• Qualifications in Horticulture or equivalent 
• Minimum 2+ years’ experience in a similar role 
• Demonstrated sound knowledge across all key areas of competence in landscape gardening and general maintenance 
• Sound knowledge in the use of gardening equipment 
• Knowledge of gardening maintenance 
• Time management skills with regards to planning ahead for equipment requirements and work arrangements 
• Drivers licence
• Current First Aid Certificate
• A national police record check is required
