Who will you be working with?
The mission of the Fleet Innovation & Transformation team is to accelerate fleet transformation by consistently providing compelling solutions and innovative technologies that improve reliability, sustainability, and performance. The legacy controls product manager will be responsible for the market penetration and the entire life cycle strategy including obsolescence and end of life timing for the controls product portfolio.
How will you make a difference?
The Product Manager is a key player in the growth strategy and development of a product/solution, overseeing its entire lifecycle from conception to end-of-life. Conducting market research, competitive assessment and analysis, identifying customer needs and opportunities for new products, and working closely with engineering, sales, and other departments to define product requirements, cost targets, timing and return on investments (ROI) are some of the key responsibilities of a Product Manager. They also manage the product roadmap, planning new features, capabilities, financials, and potential releases. After the product is launched, they monitor customer and market feedback to drive continuous improvement. As the voice of the customer, Product Managers play a crucial role in ensuring that products fulfill customer needs while meeting business goals such as revenue targets and market share objectives. The legacy control product manager will be responsible for driving expansion of the portfolio across the globe in Aftermarket parts applications, developing new business models, service frameworks, pricing strategy, building and supporting an inorganic growth strategy, and proactively determining product sunset timing and replacement.

Qualifications/Requirements:
+ Bachelor’s Degree in Business or in “STEM” Majors (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) or equivalent working experience
+ Ability to interface effectively with all levels of the organization and external customers
+ Ability to effectively communicate requirements to engineer/design team
+ Strong oral and written technical communication skills
+ Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
+ Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems
+ Ability to drive projects to completion
Desired Characteristics:
+ Master’s degree in Engineering or Business
+ Demonstrated product line, systems, or manufacturing knowledge
+ Strong negotiating ability
+ Strong business and financial acumen
+ Background in the rail/locomotive industry
+ Commercial operations / contract management experience
+ Demonstrated proficiency of developing strong and logical business recommendations with limited data and time, as well as providing structure to potentially ambiguous environments
