About the role
Role + Responsibilities
- Design end-to-end IIoT solutions that align with customer’s business objectives and demonstrate a clear understanding of their commercial needs.
- Develop architectural diagrams and technical specifications for IIoT solutions, ensuring scalability, reliability, and security.
- Drive the creation of comprehensive project plans, outlining timelines, resource requirements, and cost estimates in line with commercial aspects of the project.
- Collaborate with sales to support business development efforts by participating in customer meetings, presentations, and proposal development, effectively articulating the commercial value of the proposed solutions.
- Provide technical leadership throughout the project lifecycle, guiding development teams to ensure solutions are implemented according to the design specifications and within budget constraints.
- Identify and mitigate potential risks that could impact the successful delivery of IIoT solutions, considering both technical and commercial implications.
- Stay up to date with emerging technologies, industry trends, and regulatory requirements, adapting solutions as necessary to maintain relevance and compliance.
- Act as a subject matter expert to resolve business questions for technical and sales teams during development and implementation process.
Qualification + Profile
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
- Proven experience (3+ years) in designing and architecting IIoT solutions, preferably within a commercial context within process control and industrial automation.
- Strong understanding of commercial considerations and business dynamics, with the ability to translate technical concepts into compelling value propositions.
- Proficiency in creating architectural diagrams, technical documentation, and project plans.
- Familiarity with IIoT and industrial protocols, such as OPC UA, MQTT, Ethernet IP and HART.
- Working knowledge of cloud and edge computing, container orchestration, data analytics, and cybersecurity best practices.
- Ability to work autonomously in an agile and cross-cultural/cross-functional environment.
- Up to 25% travel requirement.
