This role involves working independently and as part of a team to ensure systems are installed and maintained in compliance with NFPA codes, local regulations, and manufacturer specifications. The technician will interact directly with customers, ensuring timely service, clear communication, and high-quality workmanship. This position may also involve emergency on call duties and requires a commitment to safety, professionalism and technical excellence.

Troubleshoot, repair, and perform testing and inspections on a variety of fire alarm and fire suppression systems in accordance with NFPA standards
Work directly with customers to identify and resolve system issues in a professional and timely manner
Complete and submit all required reports and documentation to ensure compliance with NFPA reporting and recordkeeping requirements
Participate in a 24-hour emergency on-call schedule once able to work independently
Responsible for obtaining and maintaining NICET certifications and Ohio Fire Marshal License within the required timeframe
Provide technical details and recommendations to the sales department for quotation development, particularly for resolving code deficiencies or system upgrades
Support accurate project documentation by maintaining complete and timely timesheets, billing notes, rescheduling requests, and follow-up documentation
Maintain accurate time sheets for labor tracking and job costing
Demonstrate reliability by being punctual and consistently delivering a full day's work
Work directly with customers to identify
Hands-on experience working with fire alarm systems.

 

 QualificationsJob Requirements:

High School diploma or GED equivalent required.
Hands-on experience working with fire alarm systems.
Must possess or be able to obtain all necessary tooling to perform job functions (tooling provided by company).
Must obtain NICET Level II certification in testing and inspection within one year of promotion or hire into the position.
Ohio Fire Marshal License is preferred at hire band required within one year of employment.
Must obtain a Notifier programming license within six months of entering this role.
Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to diagnose hardware issues using multimeters and other diagnostic tools.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, wiring schematics, and technical documentation.
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Highly organized and detail oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
Proven team player with a positive attitude and collaborative work ethic.
Prior customer service experience is a plus.
Willingness to work overtime and adjust to schedule changes as needed.
Flexible and adaptable to changes in project scope or priorities with minimal notice.
Must have reliable transportation, a valid driver’s license, and a clean driving record.
Must be able to pass a drug test and background screening as required.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements:

Work offsite at customer facilities - clean/unclean conditions, hot/cold environment
Ability to lift up to 50+ pounds and maneuver 300-lb cylinders using proper tools and techniques
Work at elevated heights, including climbing ladders and operating aerial lifts as required
Required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE), including safety shoes, hard hats, and others job-specific safety gear
Company uniforms are provided and must be worn while on duty
Must maintain a clean, professional appearance and represent the company appropriately while on-site
Some overnight travel may be required depending on the project location and schedule
