Job Description

Emseal, A Sika Company, is a manufacturer of premium sealants and expansion joint systems for the commercial construction industry and many specialty market applications.

This position is responsible for Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Cash Maintenance/Bank Reconciliations, related journal entries, and month-end closing activities for the Emseal business.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Process incoming payments - checks, wires, ACH’s, and credit cards. Match customer remittances with invoicing in Xtuple.
  • Actively investigate and resolve irregularities with incoming/outgoing payments and invoice discrepancies.
  • Prepare deposits of customer checks.
  • Field AR-related customer questions; maintain customer AR files.
  • Perform daily cash management duties, including the recording of bank deposits, updating daily cash log, and posting of cash to the accounts receivable subledger.
  • Receive and organize AP invoices. Voucher AP invoices, match with receiving documentation.
  • Process payment runs.
  • Perform month-end GL account reconciliations. Review and post monthly standard journal entries.
  • Maintain vendor AP files.
  • Communicate with outside and inside stakeholders.
  • Publish Daily Sales Report.
  • Assist with internal/external audits when needed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance or Associate's degree with at least 2 years of experience.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work with numbers accurately.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively interact with customers and internal teams.
  • Proficiency in using accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, for data entry, analysis, and reporting.
  • Strong problem-solving skills to identify and resolve payment discrepancies or issues.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively to meet deadlines.
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to maintain accurate and up-to-date records.
  • Knowledge of accounting principles and understanding of accounts receivable and accounts payable processes.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
