Independent Assessment Engineer (BT-25016)

The Independent Assessment Engineer will support NASA on the MSFC Safety and Mission Assurance contract in Huntsville, AL.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• The candidate will provide multidiscipline Safety and Mission Assurance (SMA) support with expertise in the field of System Safety Engineering, Reliability & Maintainability, Quality Engineering, and/or Software Assurance to perform Independent Assessments (IA).
• Independently or as a team member, assess the health of SMA documentation in relationship to industry standards and identify gaps and risk posture to mitigate.
• Proficient in the collection, management, and analysis of quality data.

• This position requires US Citizenship due to the sensitivity of customer related information.
• Must have a bachelor's degree in the field of engineering or a related field.
• Must have 7+ years of recent and related work experience.
• In lieu of degree: Candidates with 11+ years of recent and related work experience will be considered.

WORK LOCATION:

• This position is located onsite.
• Situational telework may be authorized.
• This position offers a 9/80 schedule, every other Friday off.

BACKGROUND INVESTIGATIONS REQUIRED:

• Regular attendance in accordance with an established work schedule is critical.
• Ability to work outside normal schedule and adjust schedule to meet peak periods and surge requirements.
