The City of Peoria Parks and Recreation Department is seeking an Irrigation Technician for the Sports Complex, Neighborhood Parks and Community Parks. This is a full time, benefitted position that will provide irrigation repair, maintenance, and programming to parks across our city. If you are a hard worker that possesses extensive irrigation experience and love to contribute to a team atmosphere, this is an outstanding opportunity for you.

The ideal candidate for this position will have: / Key Responsibilities:
- Programming and operating computerized central control systems (experience with CalSense is preferred)
- Understanding and adhering to objectives and goals to meet water budgets and restrictions
- Maintaining irrigation supplies and equipment
- Operating and maintaining irrigation motors and pumps
- Performing regular and preventative maintenance on complex irrigation systems
- Maintaining parks and open space, irrigation systems, turf, trees, and plants

QualificationsMinimum Requirements:
- Education: High School graduate or equivalency
- Experience: 2-4 years. Considerable previous experience required in the same or similar previous positions. The job requires a sound knowledge of common and uncommon techniques, concepts, methods, practices, and use of forms.
- Physical Demands: Work requires heavy physical exertion and effort. Forces exerted are equivalent to lifting between 25-50 pounds.
Licenses and Certifications:
- Valid AZ Driver’s License upon hire.
- Backflow Assembly Certification within six (6) months of hire, Water Audit Certification within twelve (12) months of hire.
Preferred / Desirable Qualifications:
- Parks or sports field experience
- Municipal irrigation or landscape maintenance experience.
