The North America team is currently looking for a Machine Operator on 1st shift to join our Taylorville, IL facility.
The Machine Operator is responsible for operating various equipment; Hydromats, Sonic Cleaner, Coiner, and Drinker Assembly to produce drinker inserts and assemblies for our Cumberland product line. The Operator must follow detailed instructions to ensure the accuracy of each product. They must inspect parts for any defects or inconsistencies and adjust as needed. The Operator must also monitor the machines to ensure they are running smoothly and efficiently. They must have a good understanding of the equipment and be able to troubleshoot any issues that arise. The Operator must be able to read and understand technical documents, follow safety guidelines, and maintain accurate records of production.
Your Impact
- Set-up, adjust, program, calibrate and perform preventative maintenance on equipment.
- Machine material to specification, from job order and document production data at a level of output that minimizes production delays.
- Utilize quality checks to ensure all systems are set for correct operational sequencing and to meet product standards.
- Maintain a clean and orderly work area to 5S Standards.
- Implement all aspects of Grain & Protein Technologies Lean and Quality Management systems.
- Comply with all safety rules, policies, and procedures.
Your Experience and Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Previous machine operator experience preferred.
- Understanding of how to use measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, tape measure, optical indicator).
- Ability to read blueprints.
- Ability to read, write and use basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication and division).
- Ability to lift, push, pull up to 50 pounds.
- Strong mechanical aptitude.
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and written with peers, managers and across departments and shifts.
- Ability to operate multiple pieces of equipment at the same time; along with packing finished parts, assembling hardware bags, and performing quality checks.
