We’re looking for an experienced back-end developer with the software engineering skills to identify potential risks, contribute to solution development, and create efficient and effective systems for modernizing citizen-facing government services. 

As a back-end developer at Booz Allen, you’ll use the latest architectural approaches and open-source frameworks and tools to deliver solutions. Using your software engineering experience, you’ll work with the development team to create custom tools, systems, and sites with consistent performance and scalability.

You Have: 

• 8+ years of experience with implementing, maintaining, and supporting agile software development to modernize systems 

• 8+ years of experience in software development using Java 8 or higher or spring technologies, including Spring-Boot, tools, and Java Multi-threading approaches

• Experience with Agile methodology, software engineering, and software products 

• Experience with developing and maintaining the technology needed to power the components that enable the user-facing side of enterprise applications databases

• Experience with conceptualizing and implementing data storage solutions, running performance testing and benchmarking, and optimizing data performance  

• Experience with creating solutions to complex problems within a collaborative, cross-functional team  

• Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust or Suitability/Fitness determination based on client requirements 

• Bachelor's degree

 Nice If You Have:  

•  Experience with JavaScript, SQL, Python, Server-Side Development, Middleware, Application or Data Integration, API Development, Core Application Systems, Node.js, Groovy, Scala, Spring Cloud, Spring Core, or Spring Data 

• Experience with writing source code for new applications or generating and enhancing code samples for existing applications 

• Experience with acquiring client requirements and resolving workflow problems through automation optimization 

• Ability to work with automated testing tools to perform testing and maintenance 

• Master’s degree
