About the Position:

The Virginia State Police (VSP) is seeking to hire an Intelligence Analyst Senior in our Virginia Fusion Center (VFC) at our Administrative Headquarters in North Chesterfield, Virginia. The successful candidate will conduct research, evaluate, and disseminate cyber intelligence information to support prevention and response efforts for cyber-crime; conduct analysis of multi-faceted data in order to show methods, trends, and patterns relating to cyber-crime; develop visual presentations, briefings, reports, talking points, training materials, handouts, guides, and other items on various cybersecurity activities; examine the use of technology to include internet exploitation and cell phone technology; perform responsibilities of the VFC Cyber Intelligence Team as defined in the Commonwealth of Virginia (COV) Cyber Response Annex by participating in a team rotation for cyber incidents and cyber notifications in accordance with the VFC cyber procedures and policies and Cyber Incident Response Annex; provide cyber intelligence support to investigations; compile reports and projects relating to cyber intelligence criminal activity on the aforementioned topics as needed; and maintain and issue hardware and software used in the VFC Open Source Intelligence functions supported by the Cyber Team.

Minimum Qualifications

Working knowledge of research and analysis techniques. Skill in operating computers and using Microsoft Office applications. General knowledge of analytical application programs and software to produce GIS based maps, text, tables, graphs, and charts is preferred but not required. Ability to effectively collect, analyze, summarize, interpret and communicate information and technical data orally and in writing; to learn about and understand basic to complex concepts in cybersecurity, cyber-crime, and open source intelligence research; to apply critical thinking to diverse information sets and to produce logic-based analysis and recommendations on probable and potential trends and event outcomes; to maintain accurate and complete files, manage multiple priorities; to follow oral and written instructions; to establish and maintain effective working relationships with all levels of personnel and representatives of other agencies and organizations; and to communicate effectively in English with staff and external partners to ensure goals and objectives are met.

Additional Considerations

•General knowledge of analytical application programs and software to produce GIS based maps, text, tables, graphs, and charts is preferred but not required.
•Public safety experience or other broad scope of governmental experience desired.
