Sentara Norfolk General and Sentara Independence are hiring for a Registered Nurse for a Temporary Traveler Position for their Outpatient Infusion Center!  Must have two or more years of current acute care RN hospital experience.  Must have strong IV skills. Must have valid RN LIc.

Day shift 

5 Days a week 8 hours a day

Typically, Monday through Friday starting at 6:30am

Every 8th week will have one weekday off and work 4 hours Saturday and Sunday 7am to 11am

$70 per hour for a contract and Potential $5000 sign on bonus

Eligible for $5000 Sign on Bonus living more than 50 miles from the facility working.

Our Infusion Centers care for a broad variety of patients to include oncology, neurology, allergy & asthma, infections disease, transplants, and more.  

Position does not require administering Chemo IVs. The RN role is the transfusion of blood products, IV abx, sub-q injections, IV hydration, medication administration, and Med/Surg level RN exp.

Nurse to patient ratio: 1 or 2 patients every 30 minutes.

Average census: 20 to 50 pending on appointment

Job Summary

The Registered Nursing (RN) is responsible to perform a competent level of nursing care as demonstrated by the critical thinking model known as the nursing process. The standards of practice (assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, coordination of care- teaching and health promotion and evaluation) along with the standards of professional performance (ethics, culturally congruent practice, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence- based practice /nursing research, quality, evaluation, resource utilization, and environmental health) encompass the actions and foundation of professional nursing. B. All Direct Care RN's required to have BLS within 90 days of hire.
