About the role

The GEICO Procurement seeks an experienced Technology Category Manager to establish effective governance over GEICO technology supplier partnerships. This role is essential to successfully delivering critical cost, risk, and performance management-related efforts for third-party relationships leveraged by their line of business and identifying strategic opportunities for growth and greater return on investment. The primary focus will be oversight of the highest-tiered technology suppliers based on risk, spending, and complexity.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • The candidate must navigate these technology supplier relationships, purchases, and contracts.

    • Data Center Hardware

    • Client Devices

    • Network Connectivity

    • Telephony/Wireline

    • Enterprise Software (both on-prem and SaaS)

    • Video Conferencing

    • Collaboration Applications

    • ITSM Tools

    • ITAM Tools

    • Infrastructure Monitoring Applications

    • Cyber Security Platforms

    • Statements of Work and Professional Services engagements

  • Contract SME for all new and critical incumbent renewal contracts for their technology supplier

  • Coordinate, communicate, and work closely with technology executives, experts, and contract owners to align goals to enterprise-wide initiatives and ensure good outcomes for all engagements. 

  • Identify value-generating opportunities (e.g., leverage, savings, efficiencies, or revenue growth) within supplier engagements, licensing models, or services.

  • Comfortable Managing technology supplier relationships

  • Lead contract negotiations in alignment with Geico contract processes, policies, and procedures

  • Partner with internal risk groups to ensure third-party relationships are compliant with all relevant policies and procedures

  • Monitor and ensure successful delivery against third-party contractual obligations, including SLA management, True-ups, notification windows, etc.

  • Lead execution of policy requirements for managed third-party relationships

  • Plan and lead periodic risk reviews and assessments of supplier relationships

Required Qualifications:

  • A bachelor’s degree

  • 3-5 years of experience in the technology business sector

  • Strong problem-solving, critical thinking, and analytical skills

  • Proven track record of identifying and implementing improvements to business processes

  • Experience negotiating software licensing, technology hardware, and technology professional services

  • Experience with ensuring suppliers meet customer requirements during the negotiation process

  • Experience communicating with executives and responding to their inquiries and requests

  • Excellent communication and time management skills; able to communicate contract issues to diverse audiences

  • Provide problem-solving and innovative ideas to support internal customers.

  • Demonstrated ability to negotiate with vendors to more effectively position GEICO to receive the best value proposals for the corporation

Desired Qualifications:

  • 4-year degree in Finance, Business Administration, or Supplier Management major

  • Experience with large technology service providers

  • Experience with contract management systems

Location: Hybrid - This position will require the individual to work onsite 3 days per week. Remote work days when not onsite.


 

Annual Salary

$93,000.00 - $154,000.00

The above annual salary range is a general guideline. Multiple factors are taken into consideration to arrive at the final hourly rate/ annual salary to be offered to the selected candidate. Factors include, but are not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the role, the selected candidate’s work experience, education and training, the work location as well as market and business considerations.
