Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Prepare and test samples of concrete and soils to determine their properties, including strength, durability, permeability, and other mechanical properties.
  • Conduct tests on materials used in construction, such as aggregates, cement, and asphalt
  • Responsible for maintaining and calibrating laboratory equipment, ensuring that all testing procedures are performed accurately, and recording and analyzing data.
  • Responsible for writing reports and communicating findings to engineers, architects, and other stakeholders

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Valid Driver's License and a good driving record
  • Must be at least 18 years old for entry onto job sites, must be able to lift up to 80 pounds repeatedly
  • Ability to read and write, ability to use a computer
  • Willingness to complete additional training or certification programs such as ACI, ASTM, and AASHTO’s, to specialize in concrete and soils testing
