How you make a difference
The CalAIM Compliance Coordinator oversees compliance and quality improvement activities for the CalAIM Justice-Involved population within a correctional healthcare setting. This role monitors program performance, conducts audits and inspections, and ensures services and documentation meet contractual, regulatory, accreditation, and DHCS requirements. The position partners with site and regional leadership to identify compliance gaps, implement corrective actions, and support audit readiness. The CalAIM Compliance Coordinator also supports ongoing quality improvement efforts through data analysis, staff training, and performance monitoring.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct audits of CalAIM documentation, eligibility screenings, care plans, consent forms, and service records to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance.
- Monitor program performance against CalAIM metrics and prepare reports, analyses, and tracking tools to support leadership and reporting needs.
- Perform compliance inspections and audits to validate adherence to contractual, regulatory, accreditation, and organizational requirements.
- Collaborate with site and regional leadership to identify deficiencies, implement corrective action plans, and follow up on resolution efforts.
- Provide training on compliance requirements, performance improvement methods, root cause analysis, and CalAIM documentation standards.

Education
- Graduation from an accredited Vocational/Practical Nursing program (diploma or associate degree) is required.
- Additional coursework or a degree in a healthcare field, human services, management, or a related field is preferred.
Experience
- One to two years of clinical nursing experience as an LVN/LPN is preferred, ideally with exposure to compliance, quality assurance, audit, utilization review, or contract-management activities.
- Background in healthcare compliance or quality assurance and a solid understanding of CalAIM policies and Medi-Cal requirements.
- Experience in a healthcare, correctional, security, forensic, or other secure setting is desirable.
