Description

CTG is seeking to fill an IT Data Center Network Engineer opening for our client in Richmond, VA.

 

Location: Richmond, VA

Duration: Direct Hire

 

Duties:

  • Design / Architect enterprise level networks
  • Responsible for core network environment and data center to data center communications.
  • Plan and implement any improvement, modification, or replacement of network infrastructure components
  • Monitor and analyze network performance across the organization’s LANs, WANs, and wireless deployments
  • Ensure the stable operation and efficient performance of division networks
  • Monitor system capacity to determine its effect on performance and recommend enhancements to meet new or changing network demands
  • Identify and remedy network performance bottlenecks
  • Install and configure all network hardware and equipment
  • Inspect, maintain, and where necessary replace network cabling, voice/data jacks, and other network-related equipment
  • Ensure network and IP connectivity of all workstations, application servers, and back-end office infrastructure
  • Conduct research on network products, services, protocols, and standards in support of network procurement and development efforts
  • Establish connectivity and uptime service level agreements
  • Be knowledgeable about and supportive of Administrative Procedures and directives
  • Perform other duties as may be required of assigned by the Manager of Information Systems

 

Skills & Experience:

  • Minimum of 12 years networking experience
  • Cisco certifications or other Networking certifications
  • On hand technical knowledge or networking systems, protocols, firewalls, load balancers, and VPN technologies
  • Experienced with network monitoring and troubleshooting tools
  • Experience working in an enterprise switched and routed environment
  • Working technical knowledge of current network hardware:
    • Cisco 9k switches
    • Cisco ACI
    • Cisco Nexus Switches
  • CCNP + 3 years (someone in between the CCNP and CCIE level of knowledge- actual certification not required)
  • Relevant Microsoft certifications
  • Skills in automation languages are a plus: Python, Java, Perl, etc.

 

Excellent verbal and written English communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group are required.
