Senior Allied Health Clinician - CAMHS Patient Flow (527919d)

The Team

This role works with the statewide CYMHS Patient Flow team - which serves as the triage service for all of CYMHS. As a triage clinician you will work autonomously alongside other highly skilled CYMHS clinicians to provide triage, assessment, and expert advice to consumers, families, and other referrers and stakeholders. 

The Role

As a senior clinician within a multidisciplinary team delivering person centred, recovery orientated and trauma informed care to all individuals accessing child and adolescent mental health services, and in accordance with the National Standards for Mental Health Services, Agency policy, legal requirements and relevant professional competencies:

• Undertake a statewide specialist function for assigned referrals to and contacts with Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) by assessing the nature of the referral or contact, gathering collateral information as required and determining an appropriate and safe response pathway.
• Ensure all contacts and referrals are prioritised in accordance with assessed individual needs and presenting risks and work closely with the appropriate care stream to facilitate a response within the required timeframe.
• Work in collaboration with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders to develop the statewide CAMHS case flow function and optimise access and pathways to the CAMHS service and deliver improved outcomes and experiences for individuals presenting with mental health concerns and their families/carers.

You will need

• Demonstrated ability to deliver high quality mental health care in a child and adolescent mental health setting with a particular focus on initial assessments, risk assessments, brief psychological interventions and developing initial management plans.
• Extensive demonstrated experience working in a child and adolescent mental health setting in a leadership or autonomous clinical role and as a part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Demonstrated knowledge of relevant philosophies, such as trauma informed care and recovery principles, policies and procedures, and associated legislation, which impact upon children and adolescents’ mental health care.

Details of appointment

Fixed term full time, day worker, working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible until 30 June 2027.

Salary

$131,122 to $138,984 per annum. Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

• Salary range is in accordance with Allied Health Professionals Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement No. 2 of 2025.

• Please note that access to salaries beyond $135,445 is subject to qualifications and/or application to the personal upgrade scheme

In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available:
