Job Summary

The Senior Network Engineer will lead and provide advanced-level technical support for highly complex network (LAN/WAN/Cloud) related issues, as well as network engineering and technology integration services for intricate systems, remote access and infrastructure. Spearhead team initiatives and participate in multiple IT project implementations simultaneously. With a deep understanding of advanced network concepts, best practices, and procedures, serves as a subject matter expert, considering both the current and future business environment in the design and upgrade of networks and systems. Mentor and coach junior team members, fostering their professional growth and ensuring they adhere to best practices and standards.

Primary Job Responsibilities

  • Lead team initiatives and provide guidance to engineers. Act as a mentor to less experienced team members, providing technical guidance and support. Additionally, take on a leadership role in cross-functional teams and provide strategic direction for complex network projects.

  • Lead medium-to-large-scale IT projects, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget. Develop project plans, coordinate resources, and manage project timelines. Additionally, oversee multiple projects simultaneously and ensure alignment with organizational goals.

  • Participate in strategic planning for IT network infrastructure, including capacity planning and technology roadmaps. Evaluate and recommend new technologies to improve network performance and efficiency. Additionally, contribute to the development of long-term IT strategies and initiatives.

  • Design and implement enterprise-class network infrastructure. Plan and deploy network solutions using private, public, virtualization and hybrid cloud technologies. Additionally, lead the design and implementation of complex, large-scale network infrastructure projects.

  • Design, install, and configure network hardware (routers, switches, firewalls) and software.

  • Plan and implement proactive management and monitoring solutions using enterprise-class tools. Ensure the reliability, security, performance, and availability of critical systems and network through advanced monitoring techniques. Additionally, develop and implement advanced network monitoring and management strategies.

  • Provide third-level technical support for complex network and infrastructure issues. Serve as an escalation point for resolving high-impact infrastructure challenges. Additionally, develop and implement advanced troubleshooting procedures, best practices, and security measures.

  • Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation, diagrams and logging for networks, network and security devices, infrastructure systems and processes. Ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices. Additionally, establish and enforce documentation standards and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.

  • Writes automation scripts/code to improve build/release tools, systems, and processes.

  • Helps implement optimal cloud resources for executing workloads and optimizing cloud spend.

  • Provide on-call support as required to ensure timely resolution of critical after-hours issues.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.
