Role Purpose
As our Associate Medical Communications Manager, you’ll drive outreach initiatives with US and UK healthcare providers, healthcare systems, and insurance providers. You will engage key external stakeholders to facilitate the exchange of medical and scientific insights about our cutting-edge products and technologies. Your role supports a broad range of Medical Affairs activities, including conference planning and the development of dynamic medical education materials.
A Day in the Life
Morning Kick-Off: Start your day by reviewing the latest updates in clinical genetics and preparing engaging medical educational materials that simplify complex genetic data into clear, impactful messages.
Stakeholder Engagement: Connect with healthcare providers, genetics labs, and professional organizations, building long-term relationships with key opinion leaders (KOLs) and specialists in cardiometabolic diseases and oncology.
Collaborative Strategy Sessions: Work closely with commercial, science, and product teams to support external engagement strategies, contribute scientific thought leadership at commercial meetings, and offer competitive insights into the clinical genetics landscape.
Event & Conference Support: Coordinate and support the planning of medical/scientific conferences—overseeing logistics, managing KOL relationships, and ensuring every event is a success.
Afternoon Workflow: Dive into drafting compelling internal and external medical communications, update educational content, and review strategic feedback with cross-functional teams.
Global Outreach: Prepare for occasional travel to represent our brand on the global stage, engaging with stakeholders and gathering invaluable insights to drive future strategy.
Who You Are
Educational Credentials: You hold at least a Master’s degree in Genetic Counseling, Genetics, or a related field. Board certification or board eligibility as a genetic counselor (from the American Board of Genetics Counseling) is highly preferred, along with state licensure if applicable.
Experienced Professional: With a minimum of three years in clinical genetics and field medical affairs, you bring hands-on experience as a genetic counselor or medical science liaison.
Relationship Builder: You have a proven track record of cultivating long-term relationships with KOLs and healthcare providers, especially within the genetics field.
Communication Pro: Your excellent written and oral communication skills allow you to translate complex scientific information into compelling narratives for diverse audiences.
Project Management Guru: You’re adept at managing multiple projects and timelines, ensuring seamless execution even in a fast-paced remote work environment.
Tech Savvy: Proficiency in Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Slides) and Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) is a must.
Collaborative & Independent: You thrive working both independently and as part of a dynamic, cross-functional team, ready to support innovative projects and strategic initiatives.
