Position Overview
The purpose of the Hubbell Electrical Solutions (HES) Operations Project Management Office (PMO) is to lead high visibility, high value, strategic initiatives, to drive change management and execution, and to improve project communications across the Segment. The PMO Director will work closely with the full Operations team, senior leadership within the Segment and Business Units, and with leadership and functional roles at the plants. He/she will scope and prioritize new projects, assign project management resources, remove impediments/roadblocks, and provide coaching and development to the team.
Duties and Responsibilities
• Assist, coach, and develop team leaders and members to be more effective in all facets of project management
• Responsible for matching team members skill set and experience with appropriate project requirements and characteristics to improve project management success
• Ensures individual team leaders and team members workload is appropriate and balanced
• Ensures consistency in communications/presentations to team members, stakeholders, and senior leadership
• Utilizes past project learned lessons to guide and coach team members
• Owns project management playbook, ensuring it’s used as project management guide and maintaining it relevant and updated
• Lead high-profile strategic initiatives that may include capacity expansion, footprint rationalization, product transfers, business process improvement, or efficiency/productivity improvement
• Leads project from feasibility analysis (costs, benefits, risks) to execution planning and team engagement, to periodic executive stakeholder updates and communication, to driving team execution while staying within approved capital and expense budgets
• Assumes leadership role on projects of high complexity and size. Able to work on complex tasks, lead teams, and manage multiple projects to completion
• Identifies, evaluates, and resolves project conflicts and issues. Identifies resource constraints that negatively impact progress and presents to senior leadership for resolution
• Proven ability to apply Lean or other CI skills, to solve problems, and to facilitate cross-functional teams in attaining desired business objectives
• Identify and execute areas of opportunities to support plants and product groups in achieving financial goals
• Develops schedules and agendas for Business Units and HES operations leadership updates
• Leads regular, concise, project updates to stakeholders including senior leadership
Skills and Experience
o 10-15 years in a manufacturing environment preferred
• Experience leading, managing, and developing people
• Ability to work and communicate effectively with individuals at all levels of the organization and build relationships
• Ability to work autonomously, escalating where necessary, and possess acumen in executing business decisions
• Ability to work effectively in an enterprise wide or cross matrix environment to develop solutions for the business
• Ability to plan work and anticipate organizational needs
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Strategic thinker with a demonstrated ability to successfully develop, launch and execute multiple projects to target goals
• Strong facilitation and organization skills
• Proficiency with MS Project or SmartSheets, Teams, Excel, OneNote, and PowerPoint is needed
Travel up to 50%

Bachelors Degree in Business
