What you'll be doing

  • Partner with US and Canadian commercial lines of business to drive growth in cross border opportunities, both deposit and credit. 
  • Conduct initial fit assessments of deal opportunities, leveraging a solid understanding of CIBC’s credit appetite and market approach and collaborating with CIBC team members across the US and Canada.
    • Development and oversight of inbound (southbound) deposit, TM and loan referral activity to CIBC Bank USA.
    • Coordination of outbound (northbound) deposit, TM and loan referral activity to CIBC Canada.
  • Act as a central point of contact for cross border client escalations, with a keen focus on internal fact-gathering, problem solving, and client resolution across multiple lines of business.
  • Participate in prospective client pitches for new cross border relationships.  Communicate the cross border value proposition, product and service offering, and client-centric approach. 
  • Develop presentations and collateral material, in collaboration with the Canadian team, for cross border business development efforts.

How you'll succeed:

  • Relationship building - Develop new client relationships through business development activities, leveraging referral sources, existing clients, bankers, and centers of influence.
  • Teamwork – Maintain relationships with internal partners across the US and Canada to connect clients and prospects for new opportunities, as appropriate.
  • Client experience - Interact with RMs and clients, as necessary, to facilitate prompt response to questions, inquiries, or issues to provide “best in class” service. Apply acquired industry/company knowledge to the development of client/prospect proposals.

At CIBC, we offer a competitive total rewards package. This role has an expected salary range of $130,000 - $165,000
