Director, Business Development – RCA Insights

Position Summary

The Director, Business Development – Research & Insights originates and advances commercial partnerships with manufacturers by leveraging RCA’s clinical expertise, research capabilities, and data-driven insights. As a client-facing, revenue-oriented leader within RCA Insights, this role builds and manages manufacturer relationships, shapes insight-enabled deals, and aligns internal teams for delivery readiness. This role reports into the VP of Product for RCA Insights.

Key Responsibilities

Business Development & Partnership Growth

  • Develop and grow manufacturer partnerships across pharma, biotech, and related sectors.
  • Own opportunities end-to-end: discovery, solution shaping, proposals, and deal execution.
  • Represent RCA Insights in executive-level discussions with commercial, medical, and research stakeholders.
  • Support deal structuring and negotiation with BD, Legal, and executive leadership.

Insight & Offering Development

  • Translate RCA manufacturing, research, and clinical data into commercially relevant insights.
  • Partner with Product, Analytics, and Research to package insights into differentiated offerings, including scalable product opportunities.
  • Apply clinical credibility to ensure messaging resonates with medical and scientific audiences.

Regulatory & Compliance

  • Ensure all partnerships and projects comply with regulatory requirements and RCA Research protocols.
  • Support development and submission of study protocols, regulatory documents, and sponsor deliverables.
  • Partner with legal and compliance teams to maintain appropriate agreements, documentation, and audit readiness.
  • Contribute to regulatory submissions (e.g., protocols, study documentation, reporting requirements).

Deal Enablement & Project Leadership

  • Quarterback deals across research, analytics, clinical leaders, legal/compliance, and delivery teams.
  • Drive scope, timelines, and commitments with strong project management discipline.
  • Oversee transition from deal close through operational execution, ensuring alignment on scope, timelines, and deliverables.
  • Act as a liaison between sponsors, RCA practices, and internal teams to ensure successful delivery.
  • Monitor project execution and proactively resolve issues across stakeholders.
  • Coordinate across RCA Insights, RCA Research, and enterprise teams to ensure aligned execution.
  • Establish and document workflows, communication plans, and roles across stakeholders.
  • Ensure clarity of scope, deliverables, and timelines across internal and external partners.
  • Support financial tracking, including project-level performance, invoicing coordination, and reporting.
  • Partner with finance teams on revenue tracking, contract execution, and account management activities.
  • Represent RCA Insights in internal leadership forums and cross-functional committees
  • Support preparation for executive meetings, sponsor presentations, and industry conferences.
  • Participate in key industry events to strengthen partnerships and pipeline.
  • Ensure accurate documentation and reporting across key workflows and systems.

Strategic Market & Partner Insight

  • Track manufacturer needs, market trends, and competitive dynamics in research, RWE, and data/insights.
  • Advise leadership on demand signals, partnership models, and emerging opportunities.
  • Contribute to go-to-market strategy and the manufacturer partnership portfolio.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree (MBA/MPH/MS) a plus.
