The ASPIRE (Achieving Success through Personalized Inclusive Real-world Education) Scholars Program Manager will lead the development, implementation, and management of the Inclusive Higher Education Certificate (IHEC) ASPIRE Scholars Program at Pikes Peak State College. This role is responsible for creating an inclusive and supportive learning environment that empowers students with intellectual disabilities to achieve their academic, personal, and professional goals. The ASPIRE Scholars Program Manager will collaborate with faculty, staff, and community partners to design innovative curricula, provide holistic student support services, and foster a culture of equity, diversity, and inclusion within the program and the college community.   The ASPIRE Scholars Program Manager shares a commitment to and exemplifies principles of equity, diversity, and inclusion in all work done within the department and as part of the college community. The ASPIRE Scholars Program Manager embraces and exemplifies the college values of respect, collaboration, quality, access, diversity, and inclusion when participating in a variety of institutional initiatives and activities, serving on committees, and representing the college, the division, and the department to assigned groups and tasks.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Completed Master's degree in special education, higher education administration, or a closely related field.
  • Five years of experience working with individuals with intellectual disabilities in an educational setting.
  • Knowledge of best practices in inclusive higher education and transition services.
  • Demonstrated experience in leadership, communication, and collaboration skills.
  • Experience with program development, implementation, and evaluation.
  • Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.

Professional level experience is defined by the Colorado Division of Human Resources: A position that involves the exercise of discretion, analytical skill, judgment, personal accountability, and responsibility for creating, developing, integrating, applying, or sharing an organized body of knowledge.  Colorado revised statute (C.R.S. 24-50-135(1) allows colleges to exempt positions from the State Personnel Classified System that are determined to be professional level work.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Completed Doctoral degree in special education, higher education administration, or a closely related field.
  • Experience with grant management and reporting.
  • Familiarity with Colorado Community College System policies and procedures.
  • Proven track record of successful partnerships with community organizations and businesses.
  • Experience with Special Education Rules and Regulations through the Colorado Department of Education.
  • Supervisory experience.
  • Project management experience.
  • Spanish language ability to read, write, and speak fluent Spanish.
