Maintenance Technician

THE ROLE
This position is responsible for troubleshooting the company's equipment and making repairs in a timely manner to ensure minimal production downtime. This includes repairing equipment parts, performing equipment retrofits and modifications.
Principle Duties and Responsibilities

Responsible for installing, replacing and/or changing machine parts as needed.

Perform preventative maintenance on all equipment per the Preventative Maintenance (PM) schedule.

Keep accurate and detailed records and PM schedules.

Quickly troubleshoot and repair equipment to minimize machine downtime.

Performs tolerance checks and makes adjustments to ensure machine conformance to part quality requirements.

Observes mechanical operation of all equipment to determine machine conformance.

Responsible for purchasing parts and parts management.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
-
Must possess a valid Driver's License and have a good driving record.

Must be fluent in safety procedures to include all things related to maintenance and repair of production machinery and ensure equipment guarding compliance.

Must have knowledge and ability to perform all aspects of LOTO requirements to meet state and federal standards.

Working knowledge of pneumatic and hydraulic cylinder operation and the ability to rebuild them is required.

Experience with VFD’s and PLC’s.

Must possess understanding and knowledge of low voltage DC circuits, 110 through 480 Volt AC single and three phase.

Ability to operate all production-related machinery to include electric scissor lift, electric pallet jack, forklift and overhead crane.

Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.

Must be well organized and be able to self-manage to ensure deadlines are met and projects are completed.

Must have good computer skills and be proficient in Microsoft Office.

MIG welding experience is a plus.
Education and Experience

Must have a High School Diploma or equivalent. An Associate's Degree is preferred.

Minimum of 3-5 years experience as a successful millwright or maintenance technician in a manufacturing environment.
