***Position will be filled as a Helper 1st Year through Journeyman Lineman depending on experience of selected candidate.***

 

JOB SUMMARY

Construct, Build and Maintain OH/UG Electric Facilities with primary voltages ranging up to 15KV including but not limited to job duties.

 

JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

• Installation, removal and maintenance of OH/UG primary line facilities and secondary services.
• Installation of OH/UG transformers and the wiring of all types of transformer banks.
• Installation of the underground transformers of various sizes and voltages. 
• Ability to climb in and out of various size manholes and vaults.
• Splicing and terminating various size voltage cables
• Driving of different sizes and types of trucks.
• Operation of various pieces of equipment, including Aerial Bucket and Digger Derrick Trucks.
• Read and understand job prints and sketches.
• Recognize material(s) and their function.
• Be available for on call duty and emergency response.

 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Must live within 20 miles of work location.
• Ability to use physical strength to perform required tasks in all weather conditions.
• Ability to work irregular hours and out of town assignments as required.
• Good communication skills.
• Ability to take and understand directives and complete tasks with limited supervision.

 

 

Minimum experience required of the position:

Helper – 1st YR.                  0 years of experience required

Apprentice 1st YR.               0 to 1 year of experience required

Apprentice II                         2 years of experience required

Apprentice III                        3 years of experience required

Apprentice IV                        4 years of experience required

Journeyman                          5 years of experience required

 

Any certificates, licenses, etc. required for the position

CDL Class A

Must be able to obtain CDL Class A within 6 months of hire.

 

As a condition of employment this position requires a pre-employment Fitness for Duty exam
